About you · optional

These notes help you browse. Unknown is a valid answer. They do not score or predict a match.

A season label is an optional style theme only. It is not a skin diagnosis or product score.

Unknown is always valid. These fields organize the plan; they do not prove a shade match.

Changing your goal or finish resets the suggested profiles below. These are starting ideas you can edit.

Not sure about coverage? Treat the first application as an observation, not a color-match result.

Tips, checks & how this guide works

This planner uses candidate profiles, not a verified product combination. It does not predict your lip color, wear time or how particular formulas will layer.

Liner

As a practice starting point, trace your natural lip edge lightly. Soften the line inward if you want less contrast.

What changes when I swap the liner?

You change the edge of the look. Compare the actual shade against your lip color; a shade name alone cannot establish a match. Keep the other steps similar when exploring the difference.

Check full product name, shade, line precision and how the color sits beside your natural lip color.

Do I want a softer boundary or more visible contrast?

Lipstick

Add a light layer, then look at the result before adding more. Your starting lip color and the formula’s coverage both matter.

What changes when I swap the lipstick?

You change the main color and coverage. Confirm the exact formula and shade, and look for lip swatches with useful context. Different coverage can change the result on the same lips.

Check full formula, shade and coverage. Use a lip swatch when possible; an arm swatch answers a different question.

Do I want my own lip color to show through, or more coverage?

Gloss

If you want shine, try a small amount over the color. Check for movement or an uneven finish before adding more.

What changes when I swap or skip the gloss?

Gloss adds another formula to the look. A tint may change the color; a clear gloss can still change its appearance. Layering, movement and comfort need a check with the actual products.

Check clear or tinted color, the formula’s finish, and any evidence about layering with your actual lipstick.

Do I want added shine, a change in color, or no extra layer?

Before calling it a combo

A plan becomes a specific combination only when each candidate has an identity. A checklist records your preparation; it does not verify performance.

Preparation checklist

0 of 3 preparation checks marked.

Editorial method & limits

This is an original teaching structure: goal → roles → candidate profiles → checks. The steps are suggestions for exploring a look. No specific product combination has been verified, and no result is a skin-tone or color-match prediction.

How to explore a swap

Change one role at a time and write down the product, shade and application. Use product directions and your observations to review the result. The planner cannot establish compatibility or wear time.

Lip colour and undertone: what is missing here

Cool, warm and olive are undertone clues, not lip-shade prescriptions. Two conditions are missing from every lip product listed here and must stay visible: (1) native lip colour, which changes how any lip colour reads; (2) coverage or opacity of the formula, which decides how much of that native colour shows through. Without those two fields, no lip shade can be promised for an undertone. Record them yourself before comparing two lip colours.

Why a lip shade can look different on you

A lip colour is layered over your native lip colour. A sheer gloss (like the Lifter Gloss, which carries no per-shade colour word in this evidence set) will show more of that base than an opaque liquid lip colour (like Super Stay Vinyl Ink). The formula's coverage is the missing variable; this directory does not record it, so no on-skin lip colour result is claimed here.

One reproducible lip combination (C21)

Colour + shine plan from verified product facts. Three roles, four short steps. Liner stays an open role — this directory holds no lip-liner product record, so no liner SKU is invented.

  1. Liner role — edge definition only. Open role: leave blank rather than stand a lipstick in.
  2. Colour step — Super Stay Vinyl Ink in Lippy — The brand places Lippy in its red shade family and describes the finish as shiny.
  3. Optional shine — Lifter Gloss Honey — Honey is the shade shown on packaging marked 26 HONEY; Honeyd is the collection name. Add this optional step only if extra shine is your goal.
  4. Write the exact shade names down before adding more. Those notes are what a later swap must beat.

Lippy was chosen for its red-family description and vinyl-shine positioning, not because this combination has been wear-tested. Honey is a named shade option rather than a collection name.

For a nude-family colour, consider Peachy or Coy instead of Lippy. Skip gloss if you want colour alone or want the vinyl finish to remain the top layer; skip liner for a softer edge.

Layering Vinyl Ink with Lifter Gloss is an editorial idea, not a brand-tested compatibility result.

Undertone lip colour: a three-condition selection flow (C17)

Cool-leaning, warm-leaning and olive-leaning are clues, not promises about which lip shade will suit you. Your natural lip colour and the formula’s coverage affect how a shade reads; consider both alongside the brand’s description of the exact shade.

Maybelline Lifter Gloss adds top-layer shine, while Super Stay Vinyl Ink provides the liquid lip colour layer.

Maybelline describes Vinyl Ink as offering instant shine, smudge-proof and transfer-proof colour, and up to 16-hour wear. These are brand claims, not wear results established by this guide.

This guide does not establish an undertone-to-shade match or how either product will look on your lips.

  1. Record native lip colour, then the desired opacity. A shared shade name does not establish the same appearance on two people.
  2. Choose the coverage you want. Sheer top layers show more native colour; more opaque liquid colour covers more of it.
  3. Choose the target finish. Vinyl Ink uses instant-shine wording; Lifter Gloss is a separate gloss layer. Keep colour and the optional extra-shine role as two decisions, and omit gloss when no extra layer is wanted.
  4. Nude-family goal · optional editorial starting point — Colour: Vinyl Ink Peachy or Coy (nude family). Optional shine: Lifter Gloss Honey.
  5. Higher-contrast red-family goal — Colour: Vinyl Ink Lippy (red family).

These pairings are brand-family words plus role structure. No undertone-to-shade prediction, no on-face match claim, and no dupe claim is made.

Primer, foundation and setting spray: one humid-afternoon scenario (C29)

Scenario: a humid afternoon followed by an indoor evening event. Start with the role of each step: primer prepares, foundation covers and setting spray seals. These steps serve different purposes and are not interchangeable.

ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 is positioned by the brand as a sheer skin tint. Its SPF 40 label is a product claim; this guide does not provide an independent SPF test.

Haus Labs describes Triclone Skin Tech Foundation as longwear, with customizable medium-to-full coverage, a weightless feel and a naturally luminous, second-skin finish.

The distinction is their intended coverage and finish, not proof that either will wear better on you. This guide does not verify how a primer, either base product and a setting spray perform together.

  1. Check the skin surface and your intended base step. Primer is optional in this plan: if no preparation step is wanted, leave that role empty. The chosen foundation remains a separate role.
  2. Pick the base form — ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 — Bom Bom ST5 (recorded default; brand: Light with Neutral Undertones). SPF 40 is label wording only. Skye ST.5 is a separate shade.
  3. Or the other base form — Haus Labs Triclone Skin Tech Foundation — Shade 260 is the other base example; medium-to-full coverage is brand wording. Choose one base; the two shades are not verified matches.
  4. Setting spray is optional in this plan. If no spray layer is wanted, skip it; the foundation is not thereby verified as a setting-spray replacement.
  5. Before an evening change, inspect the base and change one named role at a time. No humidity, wear-time or compatibility result is promised.

Skip conditions are real choices: skipping primer or spray removes one job; it does not turn the remaining product into a substitute. No compatibility promise is made — this listing holds no primer or setting-spray formula evidence, so no combination-use claim can be published. Neither foundation record carries an observed price.

NYX Butter Gloss vs Fenty Gloss Bomb: choose a gloss role (C18)

Both products fill an optional shine step. Ulta lists NYX Butter Gloss in Praline as a cream, high-shine gloss; Fenty identifies its Fenty Glow option as Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer. Choose a product and shade separately: these names do not establish a colour match.

  1. For a smaller upfront spend, compare Butter Gloss Praline at USD 6 with standard Gloss Bomb Fenty Glow at USD 23.
  2. Check the exact pack: Ulta lists Praline as 0.27 oz; Fenty lists the standard Fenty Glow option as 9 mL. No unit-price saving is calculated.
  3. Choose each shade using its own product page. This is a choice of gloss roles, not an equivalent-colour substitution.
  4. Keep your chosen lip colour as a separate decision. Layering results and wear time for these combinations have not been tested here.

US listings checked 3 October 2026: prices before tax and shipping; discounts excluded. Price and availability can change. The lower ticket price does not establish better value, identical colour or longer wear. We do not yet have a controlled side-by-side on-lip comparison.

Pillow Talk alternatives: one qualified starting point

First decide what you want to keep: lipstick form, matte finish or a particular colour direction. These are separate comparisons. This shortlist admits one named candidate with an exact formula and shade; it is not a list of proven dupes.

  1. Reference: Pillow Talk Original — Use the Matte Revolution lipstick in Original as the reference. The brand calls its shade nude-pink. The matching-name liner, Fair and Medium are separate records.
  2. Candidate: Super Model — The same brand lists this shade in Matte Revolution with a matte finish. Its muted rose direction is a reason to consider it when a rose-family change is wanted; this selection is editorial.
  3. Choose the dimension, then compare — The module below separates colour wording, shared product features and the dated price. Exact colour matching and equal wear remain unproven.

Source review: 3 October 2026, US listings. No cheaper alternative or universally flattering shade is established.

Pillow Talk Original vs Super Model

A comparison of two exact Matte Revolution lipstick shades. One documented colour-description contrast is available; shared attributes are not additional differences.

  1. Colour wording — different: Original is described as nude-pink; Super Model as mid-toned muted nude-rose. These labels do not establish which will look warmer or darker on your lips.
  2. Product family and finish — shared: Both listings name Matte Revolution and describe a matte finish. Sharing a family name does not prove identical ingredients or performance.
  3. Pack and listed price — shared in this snapshot: Both US pages show 3.5 g and USD 37 on 3 October 2026, before tax and shipping. This pair supplies no lower-price alternative.
  4. Conditional choice — editorial: Keep Original on your shortlist for its pink-family description; consider Super Model for the muted rose direction. If matching an existing lipstick exactly is essential, this evidence does not identify a replacement.
