01Anchor
Write the exact formula and shade you already trust.
The makeup notebook / Candidates
Anchor. Split attributes. List questions.

An unbranded flat lay and look inspiration, not a tested product combination.

Write the exact formula and shade you already trust.

Split color, coverage, finish and feel.

List candidates as questions with open gaps.
Your starting point
Anchors cheek candidates.
Look for close color labels first.
Treat names as leads only.
Save your choices or adjust each role.
This planner helps you search from a known shade. It does not compute an exact dupe, score match percentage, or promise the same look on your skin.
Write the exact brand, formula name and shade of a product you already use and like. A nickname or ‘my pink blush’ is not enough to search candidates.
Partial names expand the search too much. Check the component, order history or brand page before treating it as an anchor.
Full product line, formula variant, shade name or number, and market if it differs.
Which product in my bag do I actually finish?
Split the reason into color, coverage, finish and feel. You may want to keep some and change others; that is how candidates get specific.
Changing one attribute at a time makes feedback usable. A claimed dupe that matches color may still fail on finish or wear.
Color family and depth, coverage level, finish wording, and what you liked or disliked in practice.
Am I replacing the color, the coverage, or the finish?
List two or three real products as questions: same job, nearby brand color word, or a formula you want to try. None of these is a proven match yet.
Without controlled swatches, ‘close enough’ stays a hypothesis. Use brand labels and your own notes, and mark what is still unverified.
For each candidate, write which attribute is supposed to match and which evidence is missing.
Which single attribute should this candidate keep?
A plan becomes a specific combination only when each candidate has an identity.
0 of 3 preparation checks marked.
Structure: exact anchor → split attributes → candidate questions. This is a search method. A claimed dupe on social media is a lead, not verified equivalence.
If you cannot name the anchor precisely, pause. If two candidates only share a marketing word, record the gap. Exact matching needs controlled swatches or a store test.
Set the role before comparing prices. For an optional gloss step, the linked lip guide compares Butter Gloss Praline at USD 6 (Ulta) with standard Gloss Bomb Fenty Glow at USD 23 (Fenty), observed on 3 October 2026 in US listings. This compares upfront product prices, not equivalent colours, pack values or tested performance. A rinse-off peel and a leave-on exfoliant have different usage instructions, so a lower price alone does not make one an interchangeable replacement. We do not have a verified two-product price comparison for the cleanser pair. Skipping an optional step can reduce spending without buying another product.

Prices exclude tax and shipping and may change. The linked guide states the exact shade and pack for each listing.
Do not treat every concealer step as "one shade lighter". Covering hides; brightening lifts with light; correcting cancels a colour cast. The directory holds one concealer record (Kosas Revealer) and no colour-corrector record, so the correcting role has no product here. Keep the three jobs separate in your notes even when only one product fills more than one of them.
Editorial scene assembled only from listed product facts. Goal: a soft, everyday face for an indoor day — style inspiration, not a season diagnosis and not a colour-match result. Shade-premise: the shades below are listed defaults that make the role structure readable. They are not a cross-brand match plan for any user. Selection condition before you adopt the scene: replace each default with a shade you have already checked on your own skin, or keep the scene as a practice structure only.
ILIA base · Kosas concealer · Soft Pinch cheek · Vinyl Ink lip · Lifter Gloss
Order is base → concealer → cheek → lip colour → optional shine, each with a purpose above. Conditions to write down before you change anything: native lip colour, cheek form (liquid vs powder), and whether you want the gloss top layer. Evidenced replacement (both sides carry product records): cheek form → Haus Labs Color Fuse Blush Powder Fire Moon (Beige Peach label, powder form) or Glossier Cloud Paint Beam (Soft peach label, gel-cream form). Base form alternative: Haus Labs Triclone Shade 260 (medium-to-full coverage wording). Lip colour alternative: Vinyl Ink Lippy (red family) when the goal shifts from nude to red-family contrast. Season or occasion frames stay optional styling words on top of this role structure. No winner, no on-face result, and no budget-saving claim is made.
When the occasion changes, change one role's goal and record the purpose you traded on. Selection condition for every swap: the replacement must already exist as a directory product record with its own brand labels — otherwise the swap is a wish, not a plan.

The named base is Bom Bom ST5, not Skye ST.5. Tone 0.5 N and Hope are exact recorded examples, not cross-brand shade matches. Occasion and Soft Summer wording are optional editorial styling frames. Swap only where both product identities and the recorded brand labels are available.
For a matte powder bronzing role, Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Bronzer has distinct US Fair and Deep listings. These are compact products, not the separately sold refills. Read the exact shade page before deciding.
