Editorial Policy

Last updated: August 2, 2026

Revuei publishes evidence-led skincare research for readers making shopping decisions. Accuracy, clear sourcing and the separation of editorial judgment from commercial relationships guide our work.

Topic selection

Topics are selected for reader usefulness, product-data completeness, relevance to the US market and the ability to add independent analysis. Retailer compensation does not guarantee coverage, placement or a favorable conclusion.

Product samples and sponsorships

Revuei may accept products for consideration. Receiving a sample does not guarantee coverage or a positive review. The source of a tested product – self-purchased, supplied by Revuei or provided by a brand – must be disclosed. Sponsored content must be clearly labeled before the reader reaches the sponsored material.

No pay-for-play

Brands and retailers cannot buy a positive rating, remove a documented limitation or approve an independent conclusion before publication. Editorial and commercial decisions are handled separately. Affiliate commissions do not determine rankings or verdicts.

Testing and research labels

Every product record should use one status: Personally tested, Contributor tested, Research-based review, Public-review signal analysis, or Product record pending editorial verification. We do not write in the first person or imply hands-on experience when no documented test occurred.

Facts, claims and evidence

Brand claims are attributed with language such as “the brand states.” Contributor observations are identified separately. Public-review signals are described as sampled opinions, not facts or clinical evidence. Ingredient research is not used to promise that a finished commercial product will produce a specific result.

Medical and efficacy boundaries

Revuei does not diagnose conditions or promise to treat, cure or prevent disease. We avoid unsupported language such as “cures acne,” “heals eczema,” “never irritates” or “works for everyone.” Medical review, dermatologist approval and clinical verification are stated only when a qualified named reviewer and review scope are documented.

AI assistance

AI tools may assist with organization, comparison, transcription or preliminary analysis. They do not replace source verification, product testing or human editorial accountability. A human editor reviews material before publication.

Updates and corrections

Product facts, formulas, prices and availability can change. Content is reviewed when a material change is reported or discovered. Readers can use the Corrections Policy to report an error.
