Our method for business
Make the reasoning reviewable.
A business question needs a defined scope and a traceable answer. Our proposed workflow keeps the question, permitted data, analysis and limitations connected.
1. Agree on the question
Define the product, market, time window, intended use and decision the work may inform. Record what the available data cannot answer. Do not set a desired finding as an acceptance criterion.
2. Establish the data boundary
Confirm the origin and permitted purpose of each input before access. A customer's data requires authority for the proposed processing. Member research requires a separate, versioned consent that covers the study and enterprise use. Consent for a consumer feature or photo display does not cover research.
Permitted enterprise inputs are consented member research data, aggregated and de-identified findings from permitted inputs, authorized customer-owned data, and our own ingredient library. Public third-party review text is not a paid deliverable.
3. Check the inputs
Check product and formula identity, the collection period, missing information, duplicate records and whether sources describe the same underlying material. Record exclusions and coverage limits. Repeated copies of one source are not independent evidence.
4. Separate observation from interpretation
Keep ingredient facts, participant reports and analytical judgments distinct. State definitions, denominators and uncertainty when applicable. An ingredient list alone does not establish the concentration, performance or individual suitability of a finished product.
Describe alternative explanations that matter to the question. Association does not establish causation, and a voluntary panel is not automatically representative of a wider population.
5. Deliver findings with their limits
Agree on a question brief, a permitted output and a methods note before delivery. Aggregate or suppress outputs that could expose an individual; remove direct identifiers and assess whether combinations of fields could identify someone. De-identification is a process to assess, not a guarantee of zero risk.
Record the input version, method version and review date. Correct a material error with a traceable revision. Commercial preferences cannot change an unfavorable result or remove a material limitation.
6. Respect changes in permission
Members will be able to review and withdraw optional consent in a later privacy and consent center. Withdrawal stops new use under that permission and initiates the applicable removal process. Information already incorporated into an irreversibly de-identified aggregate may not be separable; that boundary must be explained before a study begins.
Retention periods, response timelines and the responsible data entity must be finalized before member research opens. This page describes a proposed process and is not a statement that a research platform is operating.
Make the limits part of the handoff
The proposed handoff would distinguish observed findings from interpretation and recommendations, identify the input version and date, and document missing data and important alternative explanations. Small or self-selected samples would not be presented as population estimates.
A correction would identify the affected statement and supporting evidence. Changes to the question, data or intended use would require a revised scope; a previous permission would not automatically cover the new use.
